Biography
Chelsea joined M.G. Daly in 2024, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge in corporate and civil litigation and procedure. As a senior associate, Chelsea provides essential support, particularly in the Firm’s litigation, dispute resolution and risk management departments.
Chelsea is a dynamic advocate and versatile in her ability, having appeared and instructed numerous times in the Privy Council, the Caribbean Court of Justice (Original Jurisdiction) and the High Courts and Courts of Appeal of Trinidad and Belize.
Prior to joining the Firm, Chelsea spent four years as Legal Counsel for a well-known investment bank, gaining considerable experience in legal issues pertaining to the securities sector, international finance, risk and recoveries and the banking sector. She has lead in a number of commercial matters involving debt and equity financing and has advised several high profile clients on legal implications and structuring in capital market transactions.
Chelsea also possesses considerable knowledge and experience in constitutional, public and administrative law, and contentious land and estate proceedings, having practiced in these areas while at two well-known firms in Trinidad and Belize. She is also well placed to lead and render substantial support in these areas.
Chelsea is an enthusiast for knowledge and self- development, through experience. Throughout the course of her academic pursuits, she has represented the University of the West Indies at the Caribbean Court of Justice 2014 Mooting Competition, the Hugh Wooding Law School at the Lex Caribbean Client Interview Competition, Bahamas, and its Human Rights Public Speaking 2015 Competition, placing first.
She was also the recipient of an international scholarship to pursue International Business and Finance in the United States.
Beyond her academic and career pursuits, Chelsea is a lover of local culture including calypso, steelpan and the arts and actively supports same in commemoration of the life of her late maternal grandparents.
